This is how an unbiased dispassionate journalist elicits the truth.
ABP News journalist Rubika Liyaquat asked Congress-supporting journalist Satish Singh, “Who was Veer Savarkar?”
Satish Singh replied, “He was the president of the Hindu Mahasabha.”
Rubika: “So that means he was not from the RSS, right?”
Satish Singh: “Oh, the RSS is an organization inspired by Veer Savarkar’s ideology. In a way, Savarkar himself was like the founder of the RSS.”
Rubika: “So this same Savarkar, whom you call the founder of the RSS, was imprisoned in the Cellular Jail (Kala Pani) for 11 years. And you people say that not a single person from the RSS went to jail during the freedom movement. Now I ask you—name one Congress leader who was given the punishment of Kala Pani by the British.”
Satish Singh: “Uh… um… (stammering).”
Rubika Liyaquat: “The British gave the punishment of Kala Pani only to those who posed a threat to their rule. Obviously, the British felt more threatened by Savarkar than by Nehru.”
Satish Singh: “What I meant was…”
Rubika Liyaquat: “You can explain your ‘meaning’ later. For now, promise that you will stop saying that no RSS leader ever went to jail. You yourself said that Savarkar is an inspiration for RSS volunteers.”
